What Is DARVO? Inside the Abuser’s Textbook And How an Endarkener Makes You See Yourself Through Their Eyes
NEW GRAPHIC NOVEL EXPOSES INVISIBLE VIOLENCE
At some point in our lives, whether in the workplace, within our own families, or through romantic connections, almost all of us have encountered the toxic, disorienting trap of DARVO.
It is crucial for everyone to learn to recognize DARVO.
Recognizing this dangerous pattern of behavior is the first step toward neutralizing its impact and countering these deceptive, systemic tactics used by abusers, bullies and narcissists in any environment.

You confront someone or complain about what they did to you.
And suddenly, you are the one on trial.
The whistleblower becomes the suspect.
They deny what happened.
They attack your credibility, your motives, your character.
Then comes the reversal:
They become the victim.
You become the offender.
The pattern has a name.
Introduced by psychologist Dr. Jennifer Freyd, this structural tactic describes how abusers, institutions, and powerful networks respond when confronted with wrongdoing:
D.A.R.V.O.
Deny.
Attack.
Reverse Victim and Offender.
Once you learn to see it, the tactic is always recognizable.

1. DENY
First, the denial.
“Nothing happened.”
2. ATTACK
Then comes the attack.
The target must be discredited. Not the evidence. Their character.
The smear campaign against you — and whistleblowers on a macro level — is always the same.
They say you are:
Greedy. Framing it as greed is the old age textbook. The greediest–accusing others of greed.
Unstable. Classic DARVO.
Lying. The most grotesque argument.
Incompetent. They attack when they feel threatened. They do not attack what is not worthy.
And if that is not enough — they sue.
Their ultimate Attack.
Their weapon: DARVO within the legal system.
3. REVERSE VICTIM AND OFFENDER
DARVO: a manipulative distraction from the original misconduct.
The conversation is no longer about the original wrongdoing.
It is about the supposed wrongdoing of exposing it.
The perpetrators play the victim.
When they cannot defeat your facts, they destroy your identity.

But What Happens When DARVO Becomes a System?
The pattern was crystal clear.
I investigated. What happened to the #MeToo Women?
“The Evil Wolf asked the Queen Wolf to trade her body for her future. She said no. He punished her, destroying her livelihood, her work, her dreams – bar throne. She exposed his blackmail. The world moved on, and left her behind.” *Red Riding Wolf is an allegoric graphic novel with animals.
She was not the only one. Several Queen Wolves spoke.

Most had been assaulted.
Most perpetrators were politicians. Lawyers. Judges.
The Queen Wolves who spoke out were attacked publicly. Called liars. Greedy. Unstable.
In court, they were humiliated. Their stories were dismissed.
The acts minimized. "Not a big deal." "Too sensitive." "Nothing serious."
Some contemplated suicide.
Then, the systemic destruction took hold:
One lost her home. A fire destroyed it. Everything was gone.
Another received death threats. She started carrying a gun.
One was nearly killed. A truck swerved toward her. Her car flipped. A broken neck. A broken back. Facial fractures. She survived.
Then, the wealthy perpetrators sued them for defamation.
For millions.
Invisible violence #violence.
Most did not have the means to hire a lawyer and fight powerful law firms. Most could not defend themselves. Some turned to community funding. Others mortgaged their homes. Others lost by default. Never on the merits.
Some became isolated.
Lost everything for doing the right thing.
They lived in fear.
Always looking over their shoulder.
They were shunned.
People stopped greeting them. Stopped hugging them. Silence replaced support. Friends turned away.
They felt: "Abandoned by society." "Betrayed." "Enraged." "Disgusted."
Some said they had "broken up with the world."
In one instance, a Queen Wolf found support in her industry – the wrongdoer and his enablers were cast out — Firefighters.
This pattern is not limited to Queen Wolves; some King Wolves have faced it too.

The D.A.R.V.O. (Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender) tactic is a common method used by abusers and institutional systems to shift blame onto victims, as exemplified by cases involving #MeToo accusers and tobacco whistleblower Jeffrey Wigand. This systemic pattern of "invisible violence" often triggers smear campaigns and legal attacks, forcing victims to fight for their reputation and sanity.
The smear campaign against whistleblowers is always the same #whistleblower #smearcampaign:
Anita Hill, treated as a liar, delusional, and opportunistic.
Christine Blasey Ford, attacked as a liar, politically motivated, and mentally unstable.
#MeToo accusers in general, called "gold diggers" and "fame seekers."
Jeffrey Wigand (The Insider), hit with a 500-page dossier, accused of domestic abuse, shoplifting, lying, and planting a death-threat bullet in his own mailbox to discredit his Big Tobacco exposure.
Erin Brockovich, attacked as unqualified and attention-seeking.
Chelsea Manning, framed as a traitor, unstable, and ego-driven.
Frank Serpico, framed by his fellow officers as a dangerous traitor, an eccentric outcast, and left to die with a bullet to the face for exposing police corruption.
Karen Mulder, framed as unstable and drug-addicted, institutionalized. The first who spoke publicly about the Epstein connections.
John Barnett (Boeing Whistleblower), buried under corporate legal pressure, gaslit as a disgruntled and incompetent employee, and driven to ultimate psychological collapse.
Even when claims are later validated, the first response is always: "Fraud. Opportunist. Crazy."
When there is a pattern, there is an Archetype.

THE ENDARKENERS
A modern, cinematic reinvention of Little Red Riding Hood where the lady wolf turns the hunt back on the Big Bad Wolf.
In writing that story, I created the archetype of the Villain, inspired by the famous concept of archetypes developed by the brilliant Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung.
A figure who sacrifices everything for greed.
A figure who destroys beauty.
A figure who disguises himself as an ally.
On a larger scale, in the story, the Villain becomes the embodiment of environmental destruction — the force willing to sacrifice the Earth itself for profit.
The turning point comes when the heroine finally recognizes the Villain hidden behind the mask of a figure of alleged protection and authority.
Once she sees him, she finally sees herself.
His words no longer hold power over her.
THE ENDARKENERS TEXTBOOK:
They endarken.
They turn beauty into ugliness.
They use words to wound instead of spreading love.
They destroy.
They put you down.
They humiliate you.
Because they cannot stand light.
They try to dim it in others.
In my second novel, the Villain extinguishes the lights of the stars in the sky.
They live in the shadows. Like cowards.
They revel in watching others suffer.
It makes them feel superior.
In control.
They show no empathy.
They deny everything.
They never admit fault.
They dismiss the wrongdoing.
They normalize abuse.
Any attempt at dialogue runs in circles.
Endless denial.
Endless bad faith.
Endless distortion.
They shame you. They blame you. They normalize the unacceptable.
They twist reality until you doubt your own perception.
Until you doubt your own WORTH.
Some victims never understand what is happening.
Some internalize the shame that never belonged to them.
And some... self-destruct.
The most vicious form of violence: They turn the mind of their victims against themselves.
The Endarkeners.
The masters of invisible violence.
Of invisible murders.
